Karen Marie Moning kept us wondering for so long. Each book generated more unanswered questions until everything piled up inside my head and I felt like exploding. Who killed Alina? What Barrons is? What's the story with Seelie and Unseelie? Why the dark book is after Mac? Who was the forth Prince? Were the hell is V'Lane? What secrets does Rowena hide?

Well, this book has answers.

Ignite me by Tahereh Mafi

Before I start talking about this book, I need to say that I was confused about this series. It was hard to make my mind about the plot, story and characters. But I wanted to finish the books and see the bigger picture. Well, now that I've seen it, let's talk about it.

Gone Girl

If you've read my posts Sharp Objects and Dark Places, I'm sure you know how crazy I am about Gillian Flynn. Those two books, are the best books I've read lately, overcoming my love for Harry Hole too! Yes, yes, I shamelessly admit it. I love Flynn more than Nesbo.

And since I enjoyed her books so much, it was time to read Gone Girl!

Night of Cake and Puppets by Laini Taylor

What a book!

So, this is the second novella I ever read and I think I'm starting to like the concept of a novella. Especially since those two were amazing. First Shadows by L. J. Armentrout and now this one by Laini Taylor.

It's been a while since I read Daughter of Smoke and Bone series (I still have to read the third book too) and I had completely forgotten how much I love Laini's writing! I mean, when I started Night of Cake and Puppets it swept me off my feet.

Lullaby by Amanda Hocking

*sighs*

So, I read book number 2. Lullaby, what a great title, right? Given what I read in book 1 I pictured the sea shining under the moonlight and a beautiful song sounding from the pit of the world, like magic, calling people to its trap.

Wake - Watersong series

A book about mermaids, sirens and beautiful and compelling characters is always an intrigued one. When I read the synopsis, I knew one or two things would be kind of standard. The song, the blood-sucking and the bossy attitude around people.

The truth is that I was very curious to see if the author would have some surprises for us. Something to make the book stick to our heads and maybe even gasp. And I did gasp, but for the wrong reasons.

Harry Hole: The Redeemer

Harry, Harry, Harry ... he is an unpredictable bastard that’s what he is. But I never have enough of his stories. Harry Hole is a truly remarkable character to read and he’s almost always too hard to outsmart.

But there was a guy in this book, who managed quite well to sneak up on him. And that made the story more interesting.

If I Stay - Buddies Say

I’m used to reading books with bloody murders, vampires, crazy robot killers and mutated humans. I do well with these kind of books. I become addicted, excited, curious, eager to solve the mystery and I love some good action. And then I read If I stay. 

I read this book as a buddy read with my friend Penny and even if we both rated it with three stars, you’d be surprised to find out how our opinions differ. It will be fun!

Shadows by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Holy crap! 

That was my reaction when I started and finished Opal, the third book in Lux series. Talk about a powerful start and you got one right here. 

Jennifer L. Armentrout is doing her best for these books. Most of the times as a series goes on, I happen to find stuff I don’t like and disappointment kicks in, but Lux series keep getting more awesome, I’m telling you!

I’ve talked a little about his book in an older Feature I had written about D A Botta and his series, but today I’m here with my thoughts on the first book in the Elyzian Chronicles series.

That’s on the back cover of The Maze Runner series and of course, it hooked me. Thomas wakes up in an unknown place, with no memories of his life and a bunch of teenage boys looking at him weirdly. Who is he? How he got there and what’s that place anyway?

Harry Hole: The Devil's Star

Oh, Harry, Harry, Harry!

Another Harry Hole book ended and Harry’s story rock my world once again. But he was so different this time, so dark and sad. He had sunk into depression and swam in a sea of alcohol where drowning was almost certain. Oh yeah, he was a mess, a total mess, but his story was so worth reading.

Unravel me by Tahereh Mafi

So, Unravel me, by Tahereh Mafi. I’ve read this book since like forever but I hadn’t the chance to discuss it with you. For those who are not familiar with this book, the story started in Shatter me, where we followed Juliette’s story, a girl who can’t touch another human being. A couple of interesting things happened in the first book, so I was expecting an exploding sequel, the world to turn upside down, but it didn’t, and I was a little disappointed.

Sharp Objects

I promised I would blog about this book and how could I leave it aside? I mean … wow! This book is the first read that excites me so much after my beloved Harry Hole, by Jo Nesbo. This book is written by Gillian Flynn and, if I’m not mistaken, this was her debut novel. It’s a psychological thriller with a very interesting character and a more interesting plot. If you don’t have already added it to your TBR list. I say you do it soon!

The Shining

So, I read The Shining, by Stephen King. You know, the one like the movie, where Jack Nicholson gone mad in a huge hotel up to the mountains. There was blood and ghosts and too much screaming. Yes, I read it and my skin crawled, the house felt too quiet and the lights were always on.

Monstrumologist: The Curse of the Wendigo

The Curse of the Wendigo is the second book in the Monstrumology series by Rick Yancey.

We are in Doctor Warthrop’s world again and the story is breathtaking. I was craving to read more about this mysterious stories and learn about new dangerous species. So I go back to 1897 and follow the Wendigo.
