Shadows by Jennifer L. Armentrout

This is how everything began.

Do you want to know what happened before Katy met Daemon and Dee? Do you want to know everything about Dawson and his story?

Here comes the Shadows.

When I read that the book was about Dawson’s story I was thrilled. It’s always interesting to learn more stuff about a story I love, so this book made it to my TBR list. When I got a glimpse of it though, I must admit that I had second thoughts.

At first glance it bothered me that it was from Dawson’s POV. Don’t ask what was I expecting, I really don’t know, but while reading the first chapter, I was missing Katy. Does this happen to you? Something didn't  fit and I frowned a lot, but I kept reading.

Then I started reading about Bethany and she irritated me. Oh, she was so nerve-breaking, but I continued reading, until the story started to feel right. Like those new voices were somehow as it supposed to be and the more characters I met in the book, the more the pieces were matching together.

After a few chapters I was hooked.

Jennifer L. Armentrout has created two great characters and the story fits perfectly with what I had already read from the other books. Suddenly I wanted to know everything. How did they meet, how did they fall in love? Was she really in love with him? The questions kept coming into my mind and I was reading like a maniac.

When I finished it, I was glad I didn’t DNF or something because it would be a shame.

I’m only debating if someone should start reading the series from this book or go straight to Obsidian which is an amazing book.

Any thoughts?
