This is Think out Loud. It’s a weekly meme created to help bloggers break out from the blogging bubble. The rules are simple. We post whatever we want and let people know what’s in our mind. Visit the creator on Thinks Books and join too. It’s so cool to share your random thoughts.
Well, today I don’t have much time to write a longer Think Out Loud, because in an hour I’m traveling. I’m going to my parents’ house for the Holidays and so, that’s what I am going to talk about.
There is this thing that’s happening to me every Holiday season. As much as I want to see my parents, I feel sad leaving my home and my town. It’s just that I hate packing and the hours on the bus are too long and my head is going to explode even thinking about it.
But of course I go.
I stay there during the Holidays, spend a beautiful time with my family and then it’s time to come back. Well, I’m sad again for leaving them, even if I miss my home. This is confusing. If only we could live in the same town!
I guess I’m asking too much and maybe I’m overthinking this. But I want to be here and I want to be there too. (Just my MC in Divided. :) )
Do you feel that way too? Are your feelings divided?
Please share your thoughts with me.
Have a beautiful day!
It's a wonderful time to be with family, but it is also a wonderful time to enjoy the comforts of home. I would be conflicted too. I hope you have your Kindle loaded or your bag full of books. Are there traditions you're looking forward to? Safe travels, Athina!ReplyDelete
Oh, yeah. I've got my e-books and I'm ready. If I find any time alone, I would read. :)Delete
No, not really. I just look forward for the turkey. You?
LOL Yes I do feel that way too. Though my family and I live together whenever I go out and visit my grandmother and cousins in another state I have that dreadful feeling of leaving home. It disappeares once we get there but the drive there and back is just dreadful.ReplyDelete
Have a great trip.
Yes, it is a dreadful feeling.Delete
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great weekend.
I'm not a fan of traveling, so I can understand the conflicted feelings a bit. Hope you enjoy the time with your family this holiday!ReplyDelete
I just hate packing because I want all my stuff with me, which is impossible. hehe.Delete
Thank you so much.
Have a great time too.
It happens to me too. I remember always having to travel a long distance home during the Christmas or Easter break to spend time with my family. Sometimes I want to be there, other times I want to remain where I am.ReplyDelete
One thing I love about travelling, though, is that I keep my ears wide; I like listening to people tell stories.
I hope you'll have a good time with your family this holiday, Athina.
Welcome back Kaykay!Delete
Yes, stories are a great part of family time.
Have a good time too, this Holiday.
I love spending time with my family for Christmas, but I agree with you - I really wish we lived closer together. But at the same time, I'm not sure if I would like to move back to Norway after all the years I have enjoyed here in Switzerland.ReplyDelete
I hope you've had a great Christmas!
