Think Out Loud: Sleepless nights

This is Think out Loud. It’s a weekly meme created to help bloggers break out from the blogging bubble. The rules are simple. We post whatever we want and let people know what’s in our mind. Visit the creator on Thinks Books and join too. It’s so cool to share your random thoughts.

It’s Saturday, but I’m here with a Think Out Loud post. There were some sudden changes in my everyday routine and time has a whole new meaning. Everything is in fast forward so I kind of lose track of days and hours.

Today I want to talk about those sleepless nights. You do know what I mean, right? Those nights that your eyes refuse to obey, your heart races and sleep sounds like a dream. Well, for three nights those sleepless moments are torturing me and I imagine sleep like a soft white cloud on which I wanna lay and turn my mind off.

But my mind has other plans and I feel like a puppet on my mind’s invisible hands. I sleep for three hours and all of a sudden my eyes open. A look at the clock tells me it’s too early to wake up. I close my eyes again and my heart starts pounding while my stomach feels like a knot. This is not good and I already miss a good night sleep.

Have you felt like this? How do you shove away thoughts and concerns?

Oh, please do share your thoughts.

Have a great weekend.

  1. As an insomniac, I can relate to this far too well. My sister once told me to just make my mind go blank in order to sleep, but I was just like...a blank mind? What's that?! So sorry you've had trouble sleeping, too!

  2. I have to take a handful of pills to be able to sleep and to also not have night terrors and still sometimes don't sleep. I feel your pain and I hope you get some rest soon. OH, lately when I can't sleep, I sing that Happy song by Pharrell in my head and it seems to calm me down lol Don't know why!

  3. Every month I can't sleep at least one or two nights. Three nights in a row is maddening! There have been times I've given up the fight and I leave the bed and watch TV or I hit the computer. I make sure not to get comfortable or warm. No socks or blanket or pillows. An hour later I hit the bed again, ready for warmth and comfort so even if I can't sleep, at least I like the bed again. I hope you find your sleep again or the best dang nap ever!
