On writing: The Loop

It's a loop. I'm convinced now that it's a loop and I freaking like it! So now that I know it for sure I have a statement to make: Writer's mind works in a loop!

We think of a story, we are hooked on the idea, we write it, we edit it, we rewrite and re-edit it and then we think of a story, we are hooked on the idea and you know how that goes, right?

It's a freaking endless loop and I'm so excited! Well, I may have not published or self-published since professional editing is not an option right now and I can't publish my stories unedited, but the process so far repeats itself in a good way.

The stories I write are different, the problems I face are different but the loop goes on even though I feel that I don't have any more ideas, that I won't write anything else. Ha! That's not gonna happen!

I already have the feeling that my mind is creating a new story somwhere deep in my subconsious, weaving it and letting it grow while I work on my current project. So until I finish this one I don't try to find out what my mind is creating. It wil be another surprise.

Sometimes when I feel blue the doubts sneak into my mind and I'm starting to think that maybe I was wrong, maybe there are no more stories in me. But then like a spark, I see a light in the end of the tunnel and manage to ignore them.

And all that because I believe in the loop!

Do you?

  1. When I write stories I'm not on a loop. Or maybe I am... but maybe my loop happens to quickly, such that I get sick of the story I'm writing at the moment and simply want to start my new one. I don't write much anymore, but I wish I had continued some of my stories rather than dreaming about new ones instead.

    1. I know what you mean. It is the glitch in the loop and if you happen to fall into this one, it's hard to come out, but it's possible. I hope you'll find the story to guide you deeper so you don't want to start a new one.

      Thanks for stopping by, M!

  2. What a fun post! I experience the loop, too, although new ideas tend to start whispering to me while I'm in the middle of working on another project, haha. They're too impatient to wait... XD

    1. Oh, the magic of the loop. It can shift but it's still there!
