Think Out Loud: Shiny and Sparkly

This is Think out Loud. It’s a weekly meme created to help bloggers break out from the blogging bubble. The rules are simple. We post whatever we want and let people know what’s in our mind. Visit the creator on Thinks Books and join too. It’s so cool to share your random thoughts.

It’s frustrating.

One day you wake up with a plan in your mind, you know how things are and what to expect. Perfect, right? The dreamy world were everything sparkle and on the shiny surfaces you can see your reflection. That’s how things should be in real life. Plain and clear! In that sparkly world there is nothing to keep you down or drag you to a dark place. The sun feels hot against your skin and the corner of your lips curl up ready to smile.

But you wake up the next day and there is chaos. People tell you about things you don’t understand, forcing you to take care of stuff in no time and it’s like someone pressed the fast forward without telling you. And while the world moves in the crazy beat nobody stops just for a second to ask if you agree.

But I should expect this, right? We, humans, the top of the Food Chain, we are selfish. We take things for granted and we expect others to agree or follow us.

Well, no.

I’ve said it again: People are different, move on already!

And I do it too, I move on, because people are different. But why do I feel like I’m moving on to the wrong direction? Why am I not strong enough to pull others around just enough to take a peek to the reality I’m seeing? Who knows, they might like it there. Taking a peek is harmless. Besides, plain and clear is good, isn’t it?

So, off I go to polish some surfaces. Maybe I can see my reflection again.

  1. It's always good to find one's self when things don't go as planned. And I definitely hate it when people just assume you agree on everything without asking.
Good luck and don't let them bring you down.

    1. Thanks, Kipha. And you're right. When things don't go as planned we realize who we really are. It's actually interesting. :)

  4. Athina I'm a planner who happens to be impulsive, so I don't follow my own plans. I feel crazy sometimes with these two parts of myself at war. Like your sleeping world and the world you wake up to. I hope you can pull someone into your vision so they can see what you see, maybe they'll stop and take a breath with you.

    1. I imagine how you must feel, Robyn. I am a planner too. But the problem begins when it's not your plan but one you participate in and it just changes. It's tough.

I missed your TOLs. I look forward for next Thursday!:)
      Have a beautiful weekend.
