QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Today is the US's Independence Day. Share your favorite book with war in it or an overthrow of the government.

Oh, that’s an interesting question.

Two series of books came into my mind when I read those lines. First is our beloved The Hunger Games series. Well, words are not enough. This series is  amazing. We saw the government falling apart and people taking their lives back. They fought they bled, but they didn’t stop until they could create a safer future for the next generations. This series was so powerful and emotional that I felt like I was reading actual events and not just fiction.

The other series of books is the Uglies series. In those books the government had taken peoples’ minds, making them live in a happy bubble where they couldn’t think or act on their own. One more time we get to see the fighters tying to free themselves, and the others, until they overthrow the government and claimed their lives.

How about you? Did you enjoy books and wars? Looking forward to read your answers.
Have a great weekend with lots of sun and tanning. :)

  2. I just read a book by Craig Johnson called Another Man's Moccasins where Walt had Vietnam War flashbacks throughout. I loved being taken back in time especially since I've watched so many war movies but never read a real world war scene. The Hunger Games was brutal, goodness.

Hope you gets in lots of sun and reading too!

  4. I loved the Hunger Games, but I haven't read The Uglies yet. There are a lot of books where there is a war going on, even that is not the main subject of the story.

Thanks for stopping by my FF post earlier. Have a great weekend, Athina.

  5. I haven't read The Uglies, though I do want to. I felt the same way while reading The Hunger games though. It was truly a powerful read. I got people at my work to read it as well, and they all loved it. Excellent choice! Thank you so much for stopping by my FF. Old follower :D Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven.

  11. I'm probably the only person out there who hasn't read The Hunger Games, haha. I do love Uglies, though! So amazing, but Scott Westerfeld wrote it, so no wonder. ;)
